LAIRD HALLING

Laird Halling is a music arranger and composer who has worked for 40 years as a church music director and arranger, creating music for choirs, orchestras, handbells, and a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. His jazz arrangements are particularly known for their excellence in capturing the jazz style while being playable by the average volunteer musician.

Laird has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition and his arrangements have been published by Brentwood-Benson Music, Prism, and PraiseCharts. Laird is a skilled woodwind player, playing clarinet, saxophone, and flute professionally and on multiple recordings. He plays clarinet in the Hillsboro Oregon Symphony and serves on their Artistic Direction Committee.

In his spare time, Laird enjoys attending concerts, hiking, travel and exploring National Parks.

Laird Halling’s orchestra and jazz arrangements have been performed and recorded by music groups in concerts, church services, and jazz festivals in over 30 countries around the world.
